Why you should study Spanish

Written by admin on September 2nd, 2008 in Study Spanish.

Studying Spanish can be fun as it’s an interesting language and learning all the facets to speaking the language can be interesting. With the number of Latinos moving into the United States at a record number the need to learn Spanish is becoming highly necessary. Many schools now are incorporating the study of Spanish so that students can learn this language to meet the demands of the workforce and social aspect to the business and personal world as well.

There’s an advantage to learning and studying Spanish and that’s because it’s useful if you go to countries where the main language is Spanish such as Spain, Mexico, and some Latin American countries.

Students who study Spanish usually go abroad as an exchange student which helps them out because they can communicate with people having studied the language long enough to converse fluently. People that work in business and health care should study Spanish because of the number of patients that enter the health care system that are Spanish speaking.
It’s important for health care workers to be able to effectively communicate with patients who are Spanish speaking and don’t speak English.

Studying Spanish also helps to understand Spanish history a lot better since students who study the language also have a better understanding of the history and culture of Latinos. Studying Spanish does more for the understanding of Spanish history than just the language itself. Studying Spanish is actually a fun way to get to know the Spanish culture a lot better since much of their history is surrounded by learning the language which helps people to learn the history and its elements a lot better. There are countless classes both in person and online that allow you to study Spanish and to pretty much learn it at your own pace. With the demand of people to being interpreters it’s becoming a needed skill to learn Spanish at the fluency of someone native to the language. There are even books and dictionaries to help yourself to be able to study at your own pace and to give you the edge of learning and retaining the information at your own speed.

The reasons are clear for learning Spanish it’s to keep up with the demand of the changing world to be able to speak to those who are Spanish speaking with moderate fluency.

It’s important for kids to learn how to speak Spanish because it gives children their first experience in learning a foreign language. Studying foreign languages also helps children to utilize their thinking ability and their social and communication skills among other people. Children who have exposure to learning a foreign language tend to be more outgoing socially. Spanish being the most readily taught language in schools where kids as young as 7-8 years old are learning and studying the language making them proficient and fluent by the time they reach junior high and high school. If some are lucky they can learn it from someone they know since just being around someone who speaks Spanish is a great way to study since you’re getting it from a native speaker without being inside of a classroom which can be real life experience.

Speaking Spanish Online

Written by admin on August 25th, 2008 in Spanish Online.

At the rate that Spanish is growing in popularity many courses to learn the language is moving from offline to online, but the programs online will be a little more than the offline programs because when you take courses online it’s going to be more because information is updated a lot faster than it is offline. Spanish courses are going to be offered more on the internet because of the fact that many more people will have access to the internet at a more readily pace instead of having to spend money buying upgrades from a website or even a brand new volume of a language program because periodically some offline programs are updated to a new volume or even changed to fit the ever growing market. Giving the fact that Spanish is going to be needed even more in the workplace and social outlet many people are seeking out more ingenious ways to stay on top of learning a language.

There’s a big advantage to learning Spanish online and that is because many people use it as a great study tool when taking an actual classroom Spanish class. This also helps people who are taking Spanish and are strapped for cash to pay for a book. In a regular class, you will almost likely get very little individual speaking practice. You spend about $400 dollars for the class and materials and you travel to and from class roughly about twenty-five or thirty times, you spend a lot of time rearrange your schedule—and then when it’s all over you will likely have received just short of an hour of individual time with the instructor.

Is it any idea that so many people fail to learn Spanish in a regular class? Overworked teachers must spend a lot of time to develop classroom lessons to try to get around the problems associated with overcrowding of college and university classrooms. For example, the teacher will divide the class into separate groups where students work together with other students. But really think about it what you really need is a native speaker who speaks Spanish to practice with, not another student who may be at the level of learning the terms and words where you might be at the level of speaking at the conversational level. Imagine sitting in the in the privacy and safety of your home with your own private Spanish teacher sitting in front of you only this time it’s off the internet. You can learn at your own pace and not have to feel like you’re rushing to learn something that you can take your time to understand and comprehend without embarrassment since not everyone is good at speaking openly in front of other people.

This also saves the trouble of having to make a trip to a college or university campus just to sit for an hour to learn what you can learn in your own home and at your own speed. Learning Spanish can be easy when you have the right tools to use.

Spanish Vocabulary and why you should learn it

Written by admin on August 21st, 2008 in vocabulary.

Speaking Spanish is one of those things that take time and the reasons you should learn the vocabulary aspect is because there are approximately 350 million native Spanish speakers across the world. Spanish is the 4th most spoken languages in the world. A vast number of Spanish speaking countries from Latin American throughout South America and the Western end of the Caribbean. Having the vocabulary down actually helps you learn the different dialects that many Spanish speaking countries speak. Having that down actually opens doors for you to communicate with 1/3 of the world which is like half a billion people globally. Another advantage is being able to communicate with Spanish speaking individuals at home. Some of the countries in the world where the main language is Spanish some people to this day still speak different dialects from regions of the country that speaks Spanish just the vocabulary for dialects are different.

Many states that border Mexico are finding themselves having to learn the vocabulary giving that many immigrants come from different states in Mexico and other countries where the vocabulary is different giving the fact that Mexico has different regions and the language varies by dialect and vocabulary. 13 years ago nearly 10% of people living in the United States were of Hispanic descent and the number of them has increased in the past decade so the idea of their vocabulary has saturated itself into American culture. Almost 60% of students learning languages in American colleges and universities are learning Spanish over other foreign languages and its always useful travel experiences since a lot of business majors need it and those who do humanitarian work use it as well. Learning Spanish vocabulary of the country you visit will give you some insight into the people and culture that a non-Spanish speaker wouldn’t know or have access to.

Just learning short pieces of Spanish vocabulary can help you in small talk if you needed a cab or reciting an address or other social things including ordering a meal. Learning some Spanish vocabulary will help your employment potential a big plus for business majors who travel internationally. Those who know a foreign language increase their job potential by several percent because of the fact that just a small amount of knowledge can increase a job’s paycheck by a few hundred even thousands of dollars. The right job skill along with a foreign language can speak volumes because employees who are proficient with using the Spanish vocabulary are likely to earn more over a 2-5 year period where someone who’s never learned a language will not earn in that time frame. It’s easy to learn the Spanish vocabulary by getting a book or even a dictionary and starting with a few basic words can help you get on your way to learning the Spanish vocabulary in no time flat. Most dictionaries are not that expensive which makes it ideal to purchase and even using in a Spanish class when taking a beginner’s course to learning Spanish.

Beginning Spanish Lessons

Written by admin on August 21st, 2008 in beginning spanish lessons.

Starting Spanish lessons is easy to do since many schools have beginners classes to get people acclimated to learning basic words, phrases and even words used in basic conversation and learning how to pronounce and assemble sentences to use in conversation. Spanish lessons are becoming so regular there not hard to find since every school just about offers beginners Spanish lessons. Now with the Internet that’s also becoming possible to take beginning Spanish at your own pace and learn in the privacy and comfort of your own home. Beginner’s Spanish is a bit tricky until you get the hang of it and depending on how well you retain information determines how well you can learn beginner’s Spanish. The classes in beginner’s Spanish are in fact being designed now to give people the chance to learn beginner’s Spanish without feeling rushed and to let people learn at their own pace since not everyone can retain information as quickly as others.

Many language-training programs design their products to meet the person’s skill level and that’s actually helpful to many who are slower learners and need something that meets their skill level. Learning Spanish today is not as hard as it used to be because they didn’t have extensive classes like they do now where people can learn beginner’s Spanish in a shorter amount of time than many courses that would go through 3 levels of beginning level courses before it was all shortened down to where it’s all information that a person can pretty much pick up in a semester or less. Now with the internet integrating classes to where people can move even faster in a beginning Spanish course and be at the next level right away and not have to wait out a semester or quarter to get into the next class that’s what’s good about the internet because you can test out of beginner courses for Spanish into more advanced classes depending on how well you do in the beginner’s class.

Most children take their beginner courses in Spanish usually in fifth or sixth grade before moving into their advanced courses that consist of reviewing what they learned from the beginner’s class.

Basic beginner’s Spanish is just simple words and phrases and learning how to put them together in a sentence. This is also how you learn to assemble simple words and learning how to say them and getting the pronunciation right and learning the definition of the word or phrase. More and more people are turning to the Internet to take beginner’s Spanish so they can avoid the embarrassment of trying to learn beginner’s Spanish without feeling uncomfortable around other people and teachers.

Learning Spanish for the first time can be uncomfortable for some people and that’s why many of them are now doing it from home via a language program or online course that allows you to learn at your own pace. Learning Spanish for the first time will take some getting used to, but with a little practice you will get the hang of it and it will be a piece of cake after the first few mistakes.

Learn to speak Spanish

Learn to speak Spanish

There are many great reasons why you should learn Spanish, some of which I have mentioned before, like it keeps you quick witted and mentally alert just by having to use your brain a bit more than normal and its great fun.

One of the packages that I have used in the past was a real eye opener for me, I found out that many hundreds of English words have their origins in Spanish and when I went through the list it made it so easy for me to get a basic grasp straight away.

Did you know that the average English speaker uses only 1200 to 2000 words in every day speech so why are you trying to learn Spanish by learning thousands of vocabulary words that you will hardly if ever use? To get started quickly learn the common words that are used in everyday language.

Why bother learning Spanish in the first place? Well did you know that Spanish is the 4th most widely spoken language in the world with around a third of a billion native speakers!

Been able to speak the language or even having a rudimentary grasp of the language will open so many doors for you, people love it when you try and talk to them in their own language and you are not resorting to that well travel English way of just speaking louder and slower!

Even if you are only a beginner in the language, don’t worry, as the Spanish say: Querer es poder (Where there is a will, there is a way.)

And what better inspiration do you need than that!

It would be flippant of me to say that it is easy to learn Spanish, as everyone learns differently, but there are many great courses out there to help you learn the Spanish language quickly and easily.

One of my favorites is a course by these guys, with some great free stuff, Check it out!

4 Good Reasons why you should Consider Learning Spanish

With almost 400 million native Spanish speakers, and countless others who speak the language, Spanish is quickly becoming a necessity, whether you are a student, a traveller, or a businessperson.

Here are 4 important reasons why you should start learning the language today:

1. Learning Spanish is great for your health…

Believe it or not - it’s true!
Studies have found that those people who speak two languages (and switch
back and forth between the two) are less likely to suffer from diseases such as Alzheimer’s and dementia.

2. Learning Spanish will increase career opportunities…

Most employers like to see applicants who have a wide range of experiences,
including having the ability to comunicate in English and Spanish.

Speaking a foreign language illustrates you have initiative. In addition, some jobs these days actually require that applicants speak both English and Spanish fluently.

3. Understanding Spanish will help you gain a better understanding of other cultures…

Spanish is spoken throughout the world, and the Hispanic culture, for example, is rich with tradition. When you can speak Spanish, you can better
relate to other Hispanic cultures.

You can read Spanish newspapers, watch Spanish television, and enjoy conversing with others who speak Spanish as well.

4. Learning Spanish is actually fairly easy…

If you speak English, particularly if you’re a native speaker, you’ll find that learning Spanish is fairly easy.

Because the vocabulary is so similar to English, many find that it’s one of the quickest second languages to learn. Whilst the grammar might be a
little hard for some, much of written Spanish is actually phonetic, making
it easy to learn.

Hopefully I’ve convinced you that it will certainly be very benificial to
learn Spanish in the coming months.

Hi and Welcome to Learn Spanish.

Hi and Welcome to Learn Spanish.

Through out this blog I am going to find some great resources and reviews from people learning Spanish.

I have been trying to learn Spanish for a while now and it only really took off when I bought an audio course, it’s seems to me that I learn better listening to CD’s rather than books or DVD’s.

There seems to be a massive amount of language courses available and what I hope to do is sort the ‘wheat from the chaff’ with my reviews.

I am also doing a similar thing with my other two blog’s (Quick French and Quick German). If anybody has anything they would like to see on the blog, maybe a review on a particular product, then please drop me a comment.
